Police are looking into a robbery that happened at a checkpoint along the Harare-Chirundu Road that is 138 kilometers long and cost the driver of a fuel tanker $11,000.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, a spokesman for the police, claimed that four men attacked the driver.
A fuel tanker driver and his assistant were attacked by four unidentified suspects before they stole $11,000 in cash. The tanker’s driver had pulled over to address a mechanical issue, the man said.
Police in Harare are also looking into a robbery case in which two suspects attacked the complainant’s home in Highlands while brandishing an unidentified pistol and stole US$18,222 in cash.
