Palestine denounces the Israeli occupation army’s apartheid-era invasion of Al-Shifa Hospital
Dr. Tamer Almassri, the State of Palestine’s ambassador, denounces the Israeli occupation army’s invasion of Al-Shifa Hospital and other hospitals in the name of apartheid.
“In order to protect the civilian population there, the state of Palestine requires immediate international assistance. Israel has attacked the hospital, claiming without evidence that it is home to Palestinian resistance groups, a lie propagated by the Nazis. Israel must be halted and held responsible for these crimes against our people, including the attack on Al-Shifa Hospital, which is classified as a war crime,” He reported.
Israel has stopped the burial of more than 180 dead bodies that are strewn all around the hospital, averting a potential health disaster. About 25,000 displaced citizens and 1500 medical personnel are housed in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, where 40 patients have already perished as a result of the Israeli occupation forces’ ongoing siege.
Additionally, Israel has attacked the paediatric and intensive care units, placing the patients in extremely dangerous situations.
Israel has been destroying sections of hospitals’ structures and severing fuel, water, and electrical supplies, all while targeting the hospitals serving thousands of Palestinian refugees. Palestinians attempting to flee through a corridor that the army claims is a secure exit from Al Shifa Hospital are being shot at by Israeli snipers.
It is unfortunate that the Biden administration has become the spokesperson of apartheid Israel in this genocide. America has used the same tactic in the invasion of Iraq where it claimed the Iraq regime housed al-Qaeda groups which later turned out to be fake news.
To date close to 12000 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza with women and children accounting for 70 percent of the victims. Over 32 000 Palestinians are injured while 1.5 million are displaced.
The state of Palestine demands the UN Security Council to form a special international criminal tribunal, in conformity with International Law to Prosecute colonial Israeli war criminals who carried out or are behind the savage slaughters which were perpetrated by settler regime Israel in Gaza and in the occupied Palestinian land.
Dr. Tamer Almassri concludes that America and its allies have lost their credibility totally and it will take at least two generations to convince the Arab, Islamic and free world including Africa to convince them that they really care about democracy, human rights and rule of law, as they use as a pretext to destabilize the other sovereign countries.
The Palestinian people will not leave their land and will continue to resist the Israeli occupation through all means necessary to achieve their independent state of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
