A R20 000 reward is being offered by the Limpopo police to anyone who can provide useful information that results in the successful arrest and conviction of a wanted individual who is considered “notorious.”

IOL has previously reported that Lovemore Musoyi, a citizen of Zimbabwe who is thought to be about 35 years old, is the target of a massive manhunt conducted by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo.

In relation to over ten criminal cases, Musoyi is wanted for murder, attempted murder, armed robberies, home invasions, business invasions, kidnappings, assaults, and stock theft.

In addition, he is wanted for having ammunition and a gun without a permit. The several offenses took place in the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo’s Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, and Rakgoadi police areas.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, a spokesman for the Limpopo police, stated last month that Musoyi is thought to be responsible for a brazen business robbery in which he allegedly used an axe to strike a man.

“On June 20, at around 7.45 p.m., Musoyi and associates committed a blatant business robbery at a tuck shop in Mafisheng village,” according to Ledwaba, one of the recent crimes involving Musoyi.

“During the robbery, Musoyi viciously attacked and assaulted the male victim with an axe, accusing him of betrayal.”

The thieves then stole soft drinks and cash from the store before running away.

“On January 1, 2023, Musoyi escaped from a police car at Dennilton’s Moutse Mall when it was traveling to Witbank Correctional Services in a different incident. Alongside this escape, there were two other suspects, who were later taken into custody again, according to Ledwaba.

In addition, Musoyi shot his ex-girlfriend’s brother in the mouth after a violent confrontation at her house on February 2, 2024, and then he left the scene carrying a television set.

In the meantime, people have been reassured by Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the provincial police commissioner for Limpopo, that a group of specialized detectives is working nonstop to find Musoyi and prosecute him.
