Following a dramatic police and SWAT team raid on the singer’s South Florida home on Thursday morning, Sean Kingston has been placed under arrest.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) filed an arrest warrant for Kingston on multiple counts of theft and fraud, and authorities in Fort Irwin, California, took him into jail without any problems Thursday night, according to an email from BSO public information officer Carey Codd to USA TODAY on Thursday.
Investigators say that after being apprehended, Kingston will be checked into a San Bernardino jail.
After conducting a comprehensive investigation, Codd previously said that detectives and Davie Police SWAT “served arrest and search warrants at a residence in Southwest Ranches”.
In addition to Kingston’s arrest, the operation resulted in the incarceration of his 62-year-old mother, Janice Turner, who is accused of numerous counts of theft and fraud.
The arrest of Kingston has garnered considerable attention because of Kingston’s striking likeness to Sir Wicknell, which has given the ongoing judicial drama a unique turn.
