In a bold move, the Democratic Alliance (DA) has outlined its terms for participating in government, including the appointment of Deputy Ministers and the selection of Directors General in key departments.
In a letter to potential coalition partners, DA Chairperson Helen Zille stated that the party seeks to have Deputy Ministers in the same ministries as their Ministers, with the exception of the Finance Ministry where they would only appoint a Deputy Minister.
The DA also demands a say in the selection of Directors General in departments reporting to their Ministers, and the review of all tenders issued since the election date.

This move signals the DA’s determination to assert their influence in any potential coalition government and ensure that their policies and vision are implemented.
