A 23-year-old Zimbabwean man, named Saymore by friends, was fatally stabbed in Leeds, West Yorkshire, around midnight on Tuesday.
According to police reports, Saymore was attacked inside a ground-floor flat in the Belle Isle area by three men who fled the scene. Despite receiving emergency treatment at the location, Saymore was pronounced dead in the hospital shortly after.
Police, assisted by a helicopter search, arrested two suspects, aged 18 and 16, in the Middleton area not long after the incident. The pair were detained on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and are also being questioned in connection with the murder.
The West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is leading the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle confirmed the arrests and emphasized that the investigation is still in its early stages.

He expressed condolences to Saymore’s family and urged the public to come forward with any information or relevant footage from CCTV or dashcams that could assist the investigation.
Friends of Saymore have described him as a friendly and social person, fluent in Shona, and a familiar face in Leeds’ nightlife scene, particularly in areas like Call Lane and Exodus, where he was known within the local Zimbabwean community.
