Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe is offering scholarships to seven students at Africa University this year. Last week, the bank provided these students with laptops and laptop bags to aid their studies.
The scholarships cover full tuition, accommodation, meals, learning materials, and other living expenses for the entire four-year duration of the students’ programs. One of the recipients was honored for achieving a place on the university’s Dean’s List for Academic Excellence in their first semester.
Sarah Charangwa, the bank’s head of public sector, presented the laptops and accessories, emphasizing the importance of enabling the students to fully engage in online and blended learning environments.
These students represent the second cohort to receive scholarships from Stanbic Bank. The initial group of five graduated last year with Bachelor’s degrees. Launched in 2020, the scholarship program supports students throughout their academic journeys, offering comprehensive financial and academic assistance.
Stanbic Bank has long maintained a strong partnership with Africa University, a reflection of its commitment to empowering youth and promoting community development. Charangwa noted that the bank takes an active role in understanding the needs of the students to offer personalized support.
