In recent weeks, two more individuals have been brought to justice in connection with a series of heists at several Mukuru Money Transfer sites in and around Harare.
According to H-metro-Norest Sasa and Clive Makofa appeared before Magistrate Tilda Mazhande.
They were kept in custody until the end of the month while investigations continue. They join five other suspects, bringing the total number of people involved to seven.
A Mukuru booth in Glen View was allegedly the scene of the first heist on December 16th, 2018. Tawanda Tagara was serving customers when the gang pulled up in a black Toyota Mark X, stopped outside the booth, and started yelling at her.

In addition to stealing R2,350 and $1,839 USD, they also aimed weapons at Tagara and fired rounds into the air. Additionally, Proud Muchairi, one of the customers, lost $950.
After stealing US$1,374 and R22,000 from a Mukuru booth in Mabvuku, the gang moved on to Manyame, where they made off with two cash boxes holding US$5,530 and Z$18,700. There was a booth robbery in Beatrice on Saturday that took $3,500 USD.
Following an anonymous tip, Clive Chanda was apprehended, and during the examination of his vehicle, many bombs were found.
