Wildfires are tearing through multiple areas in Los Angeles, with powerful winds and arid conditions driving their rapid spread over thousands of acres.
Firefighters are struggling to gain control of several blazes, with one fire official describing the situation on Thursday as unpredictable and expanding quickly.
The largest wildfire, burning in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood a region known for its celebrity residents—has become the most devastating in Los Angeles’ history. Over 5,300 structures have been destroyed so far.
As the situation evolves, updated maps and satellite imagery reveal the scale and progression of the fires. Many luxury homes along the Malibu coastline have already been reduced to rubble.
