Truck Driver Flees After Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Epworth
A devastating hit-and-run accident has claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy and left another 10-year-old injured in Epworth, Harare. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2023, when a truck veered off the road, striking the two boys who were playing in the yard of a house along Garakara Road near Tafi Shops.
According to police reports, the driver of the truck and three passengers abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene following the collision. The injured boy was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police Hunt for Fleeing Truck Driver
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the truck driver and passengers involved in the hit-and-run accident. They are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward.
Second Hit-and-Run Incident in Harare
In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man sustained leg injuries after being struck by a Mercedes Benz on Airport Road near BYD Garage in Hatfield, Harare. The motorist, who has yet to be identified, did not stop after the accident.
