Authorities have launched a widespread search for two armed men who allegedly stormed the home of a 43-year-old local government employee during a robbery in Thohoyandou on Saturday, November 16.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred at around 7:50 PM in Ha-Budeli, Block B. The victim was confronted by the two suspects, who are said to have spoken in Zulu. They reportedly held her at gunpoint and demanded money.
“The suspects forced the victim to hand over any money she had. After receiving the cash, they insisted on more, and also took her cellphone and the keys to her white Toyota Fortuner,” explained Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, a police spokesperson.
The two men then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, which contained a laptop and local traffic equipment. The victim was left locked inside a bedroom, unharmed but shaken.
