The year 2024 has been a remarkable one for Tyla, with her rise to stardom captivating audiences around the globe.
The 23-year-old singer not only took home prestigious awards, including a Grammy, but also dominated the charts. Tyla made history by staying at the top of the Billboard Afrobeats chart for a record-breaking 52 weeks.
Recently, her debut album, Tyla, was recognized as the most-streamed album by a Black female artist on Spotify in 2024, surpassing Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. Tyla has accumulated 1.565 billion streams, just edging out Cowboy Carter, which has 1.564 billion.
While some critics have attempted to downplay Tyla’s achievement, questioning her identity due to her mixed heritage, it’s clear that she maintains strong Black roots, something she has always embraced.
Many of Tyla’s fans have praised her album, calling it “skip-less” due to its consistent quality. One fan shared, “I thought Tyla would have one or two songs I liked, but after listening to the album, all I can say is that it’s flawless.”
Another fan, @_ShaunKeyz, declared, “We need to protect Tyla at all costs. She’s going to be the biggest superstar to come out of South Africa.”
In other exciting news, Tyla will be performing at Sun Arena, Time Square in Menlyn Maine on Saturday, December 7.
