Controversial war veteran Cde Blessed Runesu Geza, once a vocal supporter of the government, is now facing severe legal and political backlash.
His sudden departure from Zimbabwe, amidst a growing manhunt, has left many questioning his motives and the underlying reasons for his flight.
Geza, known for his sharp criticisms of the current leadership, is currently on the run after being charged with several serious criminal offenses.
These include theft under Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23, charges of undermining the authority of the President, and incitement to commit public violence.

The authorities allege that Geza has, through his public statements and actions, sought to destabilize the government, making his flight a key development in a broader political drama.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has since launched a nationwide manhunt for Geza, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring him would be prosecuted.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, made it clear that the force would pursue every lead to bring Geza to justice. His strong remarks have left many questioning whether the authorities will leave any stone unturned in their hunt, or if political motives may be at play.
Despite rumors circulating that Geza had taken refuge at the Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks, it appears that the war veteran has successfully fled the country, further fueling speculation regarding his escape route and current location.
The lack of clarity surrounding his whereabouts has added fuel to the fire, with some suggesting that Geza’s flight is not just about avoiding prosecution but possibly signals deeper political divides.
The war veteran’s sudden disappearance has been compounded by a separate civil case involving Harare Safari Lodge, a property located on the banks of Lake Chivero. Geza, who allegedly agreed to purchase the lodge from its owner, Mr. McDonald, for US$1.5 million, has failed to make the required payment. Despite this, he is said to have taken up residence at the lodge without consent, further complicating his legal woes. Geza has claimed that the land is State property, but this defense has only added layers to the controversy surrounding him.
As questions about his flight and the reasons for his sudden disappearance swirl, it remains to be seen whether Geza’s escape is temporary or if he will face the consequences of his actions once the authorities track him down. His case has become a focal point in the ongoing tension between the government and outspoken critics, with many watching closely to see how the situation unfolds.
Geza’s flight from justice has certainly raised questions, not only about his personal future but also about the political climate in Zimbabwe, and how far individuals may go to protect themselves from perceived persecution or accountability.
