The VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Master’s scholarships are available to students from 30 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The scholarships support studies in English-taught programmes at participating Flemish universities or universities of applied sciences in Belgium.

Scholarship Coverage:
The scholarships cover full tuition fees, travel expenses, insurance, and living costs (including accommodation). VLIR-UOS provides full scholarships for the entire duration of the Master’s programme, which may last 12, 24, or 36 months, depending on the course.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality and Residence: Applicants must be nationals and residents of one of the 30 eligible countries at the time of application.
- Age: Applicants must be no older than 35 years for Bachelor’s or initial Master’s programmes and no older than 45 years for advanced Master’s programmes as of January 1 of the intake year. Bachelor’s applicants must be at least 19 years old by January 1 of the intake year.
- Professional Experience: Preference is given to applicants working in higher education, government, or civil society. Recent graduates or private sector employees may also apply if they provide a strong motivation.
- Previous Scholarships: Applicants must not have received a Belgian government scholarship previously or enrolled in a Belgian higher education programme before the intake year.
- Application Limit: Applicants can only apply for one ICP Connect scholarship per year.
How to Apply:
Applicants must apply for both admission to the chosen study programme and the scholarship through the university’s website. It’s important to specify in the application that you are also applying for the scholarship. Application deadlines generally fall around 1 February or 28 February 2025, but some programmes have different deadlines, such as the Master of Science in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems, which has a deadline of 30 November 2024.
