WestProp Holdings Celebrates Kerry-Leigh Meikle: The Silent Powerhouse Behind Company’s Success
In the bustling engine room of WestProp Holdings, there is a remarkable individual who thrives on working behind the scenes, just like the enclosed engine under a bonnet, silently powering both big and small accomplishments.
This month, the company proudly honors Kerry-Leigh Meikle, a dedicated team player who has been with WestProp for an impressive 45 years.
Meikle’s journey at WestProp began on July 1, 2008, when she joined as a personal assistant to the then managing director, Mr. Michael Van Blerk. Recognized for her exceptional work ethic and remarkable multitasking abilities, she later took on additional responsibilities as the personal assistant to the founding chairman and current chief executive officer, Mr. Ken Sharpe.
Over the years, Meikle has become a treasure trove of knowledge and experience, contributing significantly to the company’s operations. Her dedication and expertise led to her promotion to the esteemed ‘C suite’ when WestProp underwent a restructuring. Currently, she serves as the chief administration officer, directly reporting to Mr. Sharpe.
When asked about her qualifications, Meikle humbly attributes her success to her vast experience and unwavering character, rather than formal certifications. She has witnessed the company’s remarkable growth, proudly watching projects come to life and propel WestProp to new heights.
Prior to her tenure at WestProp, Meikle had garnered valuable experience working at esteemed organizations such as the British High Commission in Zimbabwe, Dulux Paints, and Datvest Asset Management. Her dedication extends beyond the professional realm, as she passionately competes in lawn bowling at both district and national levels, earning her the nickname “Kerry” among her colleagues.
In her personal life, Meikle finds joy in her marriage to Angus and cherishes their two children. Notably, she brought home a bronze medal in 2018 from Botswana, where she competed against teams from the host nation, Namibia, and South Africa.
