Zimbabwe Taekwondo team took 5 medals at second generation Swazi Tigers Taekwondo champions held over the weekend, in Manzini eSwatini.
They grabbed one gold, three silvers and one bronze.
Speaking to this publication, Ndaona Kembo, Zimbabwe National Taekwondo Coach said the team performed well.
“ They gave a good account for themselves, it was a hard competition, 5 out of 8 its not a bad number.
“Darlington Simango took gold, Eva Karimazondo silver, Heavens Chiendepi silver, Kudakwashe Taranhike silver and Britney chipo kadewere bronze”.
“Next time we want every athlete to come home with something”, said Dube.
The focus of the tournament is to develop athletes through belt ranked competition and encouraging grassroots development.
A total of 420 athletes took part.
Countries that took part are South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique and the host nation.
It is in its second year running and the organisers, want it to be an annual event.
