Fastjet now offers additional midday flights between Harare and Bulawayo, giving weekend travelers more options. This new schedule benefits business professionals who frequently commute between the two cities.
As a frequent commuter, I’ve become acquainted with other passengers, often exchanging nods or brief greetings. Our journeys usually start at sunrise or at the end of the day, with each of us exhausted from work.
One morning, I noticed a tall, well-dressed man wearing a navy blue blazer, a crisp white shirt, and khaki chinos. His distinctive haircut confirmed his identity as Busisa Moyo, a well-known figure I had read about in a business newspaper.
Unsure how to address him, I overheard a stout gentleman in a rugby jacket greet him with, “Hello, Busisa.” Seizing the opportunity, I introduced myself, mentioning how frequently our paths crossed.
Busisa gave a firm handshake and made courteous eye contact. When I praised FastJet’s flexibility, he said, “For me, it’s the personal service, choice of booking, and responsiveness.”
“We’re always on the go and need a dependable travel companion,” he explained, ordering another coffee. I nodded in agreement, noting that fastjet’s new midday flight perfectly met our requirements.
“In business, time is valuable,” Busisa said. “These weekend flights let us finish our work on Friday and travel at our leisure.”
As we spoke, two men joined us and greeted Busisa in Ndebele. Their laughter filled the lounge as a fastjet official announced the new flights: “Flight FN8445 leaves Harare at noon and arrives in Bulawayo at 12:45. The return flight leaves Bulawayo at 13:20 and lands in Harare at 14:10. Thank you for flying with Fastjet.
Busisa smiled as he gathered his belongings before boarding. “Do you see? Responsiveness. We talked, and they listened.”
