As Zimbabwe prepares to host the SADC summit, the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) recently convened a national prayer meeting to seek divine blessings for President Mnangagwa. The event, held at the Benjamin Burombo Government Complex, brought together representatives from all 10 provinces, including prominent bishops of indigenous churches.

In my address, I emphasized the significance of praying for our leader as he assumes the SADC chairmanship. “We gather today to ask God to bless President Mnangagwa, our visionary leader, as he prepares to take the reins of SADC,” I said. “We pray for peace and tranquillity to prevail in our nation before, during, and after the summit, so that our President can effectively steer the regional bloc towards prosperity.”

I also took the opportunity to express my organization’s gratitude to God for entrusting Zimbabwe with a leader like President Mnangagwa. “We thank God for giving us a leader who has achieved so much in a short span of time,” I noted. “His visionary leadership is on course to eradicate hunger in Zimbabwe, and we believe he deserves our prayers to continue leading with distinction.”

Bishop Lyphet Nhaudzashe Matenda,Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) national chairman, echoed my sentiments, describing President Mnangagwa as a gift to Zimbabwe. “We need to pray for our President to continue leading us with the wisdom and vision God has given him,” he said.

Our prayer meeting was more than just a gesture of support; it was a call to action. We urged all Zimbabweans to join us in praying for our leader, that he may remain in office until 2030 to see through his vision of transforming our nation into an upper-middle-income society. “President Mnangagwa is a visionary leader who deserves to remain in office until 2030, so that he can take Zimbabwe to the Promised Land,” I emphasized.

As we prayed, we acknowledged the significance of President Mnangagwa’s leadership and the progress he has made so far. We believe that with God’s guidance and our collective support, he will continue to lead our nation towards a brighter future.
