The UCL Institute of Education (IOE), in collaboration with International Students House (ISH), is offering the IOE-ISH Centenary Doctoral Scholarships for international students from low- and middle-income countries. The scholarships are available for doctoral studies beginning in October 2025.

Eligible Programmes:
The scholarship is open to campus-based PhD programmes offered by the UCL Institute of Education. However, certain programmes, including EdD, DEdPsy, and online courses, are not eligible for this funding.

Students from countries classified as low or lower-middle income according to the World Bank’s criteria are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Coverage:
The Centenary Doctoral Scholarship provides the following benefits:
- Full coverage of tuition fees.
- Accommodation in a single room with a shared bathroom at International Students House.
- An annual stipend distributed in monthly installments to cover living expenses.
The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a resident of an eligible low or lower-middle income country, as classified by the World Bank.
- Hold an unconditional offer to pursue a full-time PhD at the UCL Institute of Education.
How to Apply:
To qualify, candidates must first secure an unconditional offer for a full-time PhD programme at the UCL Institute of Education. After receiving the offer letter, applicants can complete and submit an online application form for the scholarship.
The application deadline is 5 May 2025.
