Five men from Bulawayo were captured by the police for vehicle theft worth US$6000, as reported on March 22, 2024.
According to Inspector Abednico Ncube, the provincial police spokesperson, the incident unfolded when the suspects engaged the victim as a driver to transport them from the city center to Pumula South.
During the journey, the accused forcefully seized the driver, brandishing threats of violence with a stabbing weapon, and sprayed him with an unidentified substance.
Subsequently, they absconded with US$20 in cash along with the vehicle.

Upon receiving a tip-off from a confidential informant, detectives swiftly initiated action to identify and apprehend the culprits.
The suspects of vehicle theft , identified as Talent Tshange (31) from Cowdray Park, Wayne Sibanda (30) from Makokoba, Bhekimpilo Nkomo (26) from Mahatshula, Luxon Mlilo (29) from Nkulumane, and Hluphekile Nkomo (30) from Cowdray Park, were arrested at their respective locations, as stated by Insp Ncube.
Inspector Ncube further acknowledged the positive and cooperative relationship between law enforcement and the public, emphasizing the significance of such collaboration in yielding outcomes. “The good and healthy relations prevailing between the police and the public are producing results.
We would wish to commend the community for the trust they have in their police,” the statement concluded.
