Controversy has surrounded the death of an army general after a netizen and government critic, Cde Never Maswerasei, predicted the death of an army general in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).
On December 26, 2024, Maswerasei posted a message captioned, “Who is dying next? You have always been a prophet of death. Which general is going? When are we going back to the Heroes Acre? Between January 10 and February 22.”
Coincidentally, the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has announced the untimely death of Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba. Major General Siziba passed away this morning at Josiah Magama Tongogara Camp after a long battle with cancer. He was 67.

In a statement, ZNA Deputy Director of Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Tichafa Mungofa, said, “It is with a heavy heart that the Zimbabwe National Army announces the passing of Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba this morning at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks Camp Hospital in Harare.”
Mourners have gathered at 572 Bulawayo Drive, Killarney, Bulawayo. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
