Doek and Slay

The highly anticipated Doek and Slay event, initially set for August 11, has been rescheduled for August 25, organizers announced. According to a statement released by the organizers, “We would like to inform you of an important change in the schedule for the Harare and Gweru editions of the Doek and Slay event.”

The event promises an evening of fashion, music, and cultural celebration, and will still take place at Alexander Sports Club, featuring performances by Killer T, Freeman, and Exq. Attendees are expected to don their finest doeks (traditional African head wraps) and showcase their personal style, with a dress code of denim, white top, and doek of their choice.

Doek and Slay is more than just a fashion event – it’s a celebration of African heritage, self-expression, and empowerment. The event provides a platform for attendees to proudly showcase their cultural identity and connect with others who share similar roots.

The postponement came as a disappointment to fans who were eagerly looking forward to the event, but organizers are confident that the new date will allow for an even more successful and memorable experience.

According to the organizers, “This adjustment has been necessitated in respect of the  SADC summit of Heads of State and Government, set to take place in August in Harare.” The organizers also apologized for any inconvenience caused by the change: “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.” As the new date approaches, attendees are eagerly awaiting what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, fashion, and cultural expression.
