Celebrated gospel musician Dorcas Moyo is getting ready for this Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Mutare, where her highly awaited tenth album, “Mvere Dzabvepi,” will be released.
Ten tracks, including the highly Christian-rooted “Mvere Dzabvepi,” “Muroyi,” and “Nhai Moses,” are taken from Genesis 27:21–27.
Moyo discussed the idea behind the album in a recent interview with NewsDay, noting social issues such as drug misuse, immorality, infidelity, and ritual killings as the driving forces behind her musical advocacy.
Motivated by a desire to use music to spread the gospel and bring about positive change, Moyo stressed the significance of artists treating one another and their audiences with respect.

When Moyo looked back on her path to fame, she remembered being rejected after being kicked off a worship team because she was seen to be inadequate. She sees her accomplishment as evidence of shattering barriers and dispelling preconceptions, despite this obstacle.
Moyo thinks that the song “Mvere Dzabvepi” would strike a chord with listeners as it centres around the themes of righteousness and spiritual introspection.
With a vast repertoire that includes hits like “Wakabuda Sei” and “Anomira Nesu,” as well as albums like “Ndinokutungamirira,” “Ndokusheedzai Jesu,” and “Zvininipise,” Dorcas Moyo never stops moving and inspiring listeners with her soul-stirring tunes.
