The new Castle Lager Premiership season kicks off; one standout winner has already emerged: the VIEGO kits unveiled by CAPS United and Herentals.
Simba Bhora has also sported VIEGO gear in their first two matches, including the Castle Challenge Cup and a league encounter against FC Platinum.
These clubs are receiving widespread praise for backing a local brand, an investment that contributes to job creation within Zimbabwe.
VIEGO, a Zimbabwean sportswear company, is gaining traction in a market traditionally dominated by global giants like Adidas.
While none of their jerseys are expected to reach the record-breaking US$250,000 spent on a Scotland replica shirt last week, the most expensive football club jersey ever sold, their designs have still captivated fans.
Notably, a CAPS United jersey auctioned on the same day fetched an impressive US$1,500.
Despite this, the true highlight remains the stunning kit range VIEGO has produced for CAPS United this season.
The club partnered with VIEGO to introduce their latest kits, and the brand responded with designs that blend tradition with innovation.

VIEGO described the new CAPS United kits as follows:
- The home jersey maintains the classic green-and-white stripes, now featuring a sharp spike detail symbolising the bold spirit of the Green Machine in 2025.
- The away kit draws inspiration from the VIEGO-Wave movement, incorporating subtle elements that make it look like a simple white design from afar, ensuring clear distinction from the home kit.
- The alternate yellow kit embraces uniqueness with lateral stripes rather than the conventional vertical layout, showcasing a fresh perspective in design.
“As our flagship club within the VIEGO brand ecosystem, it’s time for Makepekepe to shine,” the company stated.
Herentals also received special attention from VIEGO, with their alternative kit carrying a symbolic theme.
“The students are making a grand comeback in 2025,” said the sportswear firm. “Their alternative kit is inspired by the powerful wings of an eagle, reflecting the club’s motto: ‘Like an eagle, we shall rise, rise, and rise!’”
Herentals was Harare’s best-performing club last season, finishing fifth in the league, ahead of traditional powerhouses such as CAPS United and Dynamos.
Their decision to align with a local brand like VIEGO adds another layer of pride to their achievements, reinforcing the growing influence of Zimbabwean sportswear in domestic football.
