Man Sentenced to Two Years in Kuwadzana Kidnapping Case

A man was sentenced to two years in prison for the kidnapping incident that rocked the Kuwadzana 3 community earlier this year, in which a five-year-old girl was abducted.

When he abducted the youngster from her playmates on a local street, 33-year-old Tendai Nhambasora provoked intense terror and anxiety.

Following a thorough trial presided over by Harare magistrate Ethel Rutendo Chichera, Nhambasora was found guilty of the abduction, leading to his sentencing.

The court heard how on January 20th, the young victim was enjoying outdoor playtime with her peers near her residence. Without warning, Nhambasora seized the child, forcibly lifting her before absconding with her.

Upon realizing her daughter was missing, the distraught mother launched a frantic search, aided by concerned members of the community.

Their efforts led them to discover that Nhambasora had been spotted carrying the child toward Kuwadzana 4 grounds.

Acting swiftly, a courageous bystander confronted the kidnapper upon witnessing the child’s distress. The girl, tearfully pleading for help, was ultimately rescued from Nhambasora’s grasp.

Law enforcement promptly intervened, taking Nhambasora into custody as the child was safely reunited with her relieved mother.
