Mavis Mada, an 18-year-old woman from Hwedza, has made a remarkable recovery after being brutally attacked by five women.
The vicious assault, which was recorded by the perpetrators, left Mavis physically and emotionally scarred.
In a heartwarming turn of events, Mavis has successfully completed a nurse aide training course at Pacific 24Hour Hospital in Mabvuku. The hospital’s administrator, Dr. Michael Mandaza, offered Mavis a free three-month training course as part of her rehabilitation.

The hospital also provided Mavis with full uniforms, food, and accommodation throughout her 90-day training. Dr. Mandaza expressed his delight at Mavis’s progress, stating, “We are thrilled that Mavis has completed her training. We will consult with her parents to determine her next steps.”
Mavis’s journey to recovery has been remarkable, considering her difficult past. She failed her Ordinary Level examinations two years ago and has been living with her grandmother in Hwedza. Her mother works as a housemaid in Harare, and her father passed away some time ago.
The training has empowered Mavis to become self-sufficient, and she is now poised to start a new chapter in her life.
