After garnering a total of 40.74 % of the votes in the final week, Josephine Otabor, better known as Phyna, was declared the winner of the seventh season of Big Brother Naija.
On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the grand finale of this season, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced the winner.
After 72 days of fierce competition, the native of Edo State defeated 23 other roommates to win the award. This is the second time that Big Brother Naija‘s winner is a female housemate against all odds.
She walked away with the 100 million Naira ultimate prize including a 50 million Naira cash gift from Innoson Motors as well as a brand-new Innoson G5T. Other prizes include a brand-new Camon 19 from Tecno, a bitcoin from Quidax, a trip for two to Dubai courtesy of TravelBeta, and electronics from Nexus.
Pepsi will provide the winner with a year’s worth of Pepsi products as a prize, while Waw detergent, Munch It, Unik, and Dano would provide packs of their respective goods.
Big Brother Naija Level Up headline and associate sponsors; Pocket by PiggyVest and Flutterwave will gift cash prizes to the winner.
For the second time in the show’s history, the finale featured a top six instead of a top five. Bryann was the first runner-up with 26.74 % of the votes. Bella came in third place after polling 15.78 % of the votes.
Others in the top six include Adekunle, who gathered 12.36 %of the votes and came in fourth, Chi who came fifth with 2.49 % and Daniella finished sixth with 1.89 %.
Phyna joins Whitemoney, Laycon, Mercy, Miracle, Efe and Katung in the highly coveted list of BBNaija winners. Like the previous winners, Phyna will no doubt leverage the opportunity the BBNaija platform is offering for her career.
