A 25-year-old woman Hazel Hungwe lost money intended for her children’s school fees, along with other valuables, while she was attending prayer services.
According to H-metro Hazel was among the worshippers at the Cathedral located at the corner of Herbert Chitepo Avenue and Simon Muzenda Road in Harare when thieves broke into her parked Nissan March.
The thieves, using an unknown tool, managed to unlock the driver’s door and steal US$1700 in cash, a tenth-generation iPad valued at US$1600, three textbooks, and personal items including her driver’s license, national ID card, and bank cards.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.
“Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle at a church along Herbert Chitepo Avenue. The total value of the stolen items is approximately US$3800, and nothing has been recovered,” said Inspector Chakanza.
