President Mnangagwa said yesterday that foreign attempts to create problems in the SADC will not succeed.

He promised that Zimbabwe will host a special and successful SADC Summit next week.

He spoke at the funeral of General (Rtd) Cde Makhethi Ndebele in Harare, where he made it clear that Zimbabwe will not be stopped by efforts to disrupt the 44th SADC Summit on August 17 and 18.

The President criticized those who spread false information about Zimbabwe and try to downplay its progress. He said that these attempts to undermine the country’s achievements won’t affect its determination to move forward.

Mnangagwa emphasized that SADC is important for maintaining regional peace and that attempts to destabilize the region will fail. He also highlighted Zimbabwe’s commitment to overcoming challenges, including those from foreign interests trying to control Africa’s resources.

As Zimbabwe prepares to lead SADC, Mnangagwa expressed pride in hosting the upcoming summit and described the raising of SADC and national flags as a symbol of unity.

He stressed the importance of showcasing Zimbabwe’s development despite economic sanctions and climate challenges. He encouraged using the summit to highlight progress and inspire regional growth.

Regarding General Ndebele, Mnangagwa honored his dedication and patriotism, urging Zimbabweans, especially the youth, to follow his example of selfless service. He offered condolences to Ndebele’s family and highlighted his significant role in the liberation struggle.
