Zimbabwe kicked off their 2024 COSAFA U17 Boys tournament Group B campaign with a dominant 5-1 victory over Eswatini on Thursday.
The Young Warriors put on a stellar display in the first half, with El Shaddai Sadomba, the son of former Warriors player Edward, and Tadiwa Chakuchicha being the standout performers. Chakuchicha opened the scoring early with a fantastic solo effort, before assisting in two other goals.
Sadomba completed a remarkable first-half hat-trick, netting his first goal in the 25th minute, followed by two more in the 35th and 42nd minutes.
Although second-half substitute Kupakwashe Mazorera thought he had added another goal soon after his introduction, his effort was ruled out for a handball during the buildup.
Valentine Macheka sealed the win with a well-placed shot in the 85th minute.
