Scott Sakupwanya’s Big Giveaway: Supporter Wins US$1,000

Sir Dhedhwa, a keen predictor, correctly forecasted the scoreline of yesterday’s thrilling match between Scottland Fc and CAPS United FC.

As seen on the placard, his prediction proved spot on!

The victorious Mabviravira team owed their success to goals from Tymon Machope and Sadney Urikhob.

Scott Sakupwanya, owner of Scottland FC, generously rewarded Sir Dhedhwa’s predictive prowess with a US$1,000 gift.

CAPS United goalkeeper Harmony Nare delivered a standout performance at Rufaro Stadium yesterday, preventing what could have been a heavy defeat as his side fell to an in-form Scottland in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match.

Nare’s exceptional shot-stopping kept the Green Machine in the game, ensuring the defeat remained respectable rather than a rout. However, the newly promoted Scotland side showed their true potential with a commanding display, securing a crucial win that now places them at the top of the table as the only team with a perfect record after two matches.

Tymon Machope and Sadney Urikhob found the back of the net for Scottland, sealing their second victory of the campaign.

Scotland coach Tonderai Ndiraya expressed his delight with his team’s display, emphasising the significance of beating a club of CAPS United’s stature.

“I’m really excited. We were up against a very strong team, one of the biggest in the league, so securing a comfortable win like this is a great achievement,” Ndiraya said.

He highlighted his squad’s improved performance compared to their previous outing against Triangle, attributing it to a week of much-needed recovery.

“The boys just needed time to rest, and today, you could see the difference. It was a much-improved performance. It’s only our second match in the top flight, and to put in a display like this, what more can I ask for?”

Despite ending up on the losing side, Nare was undoubtedly the star performer for CAPS United. Having recently joined from ZPC Hwange, the shot-stopper showcased his reflexes, composure, and ball distribution skills, making several crucial saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

However, Scotland’s dominance ultimately proved too much. Even with a series of missed chances, including wayward attempts from Panashe Mutimbanyoka, the new boys still found a way to overcome the Harare giants in front of an electrified crowd.

Among the spectators at Rufaro were Warriors head coach Michael Nees and his assistant Takesure Chiragwi, who are set to announce the national squad for upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Nigeria.

Scotland welcomed back key players Khama Billiat and Mthokozisi Msebe from injury, with Billiat making an immediate impact by assisting the opening goal.
