Scottland FC is set to make a strong impression in Zambia as they kick off a 17-day pre-season tour to prepare for the upcoming 2025 PSL season. The team plans to reduce their squad size from 40 players to 30 in order to strengthen their lineup for their debut in the Castle Lager Premier League.

Popularly known as Mabvirabvira, the team departed from Harare on Thursday, en route to their pre-season camp in Zambia. The squad is expected to make an overnight stop in Kariba before crossing the border. According to a club official, the team will remain in Zambia until February 24.

While the specific opponents for the tour remain unannounced, the primary goal is to enhance team cohesion and sharpen their skills in preparation for the new season.

In addition to their Zambian tour, a seven-member delegation from Scottland FC recently visited Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, where they met with officials from the renowned TP Mazembe.

The discussions focused on stadium construction plans for Mabvuku. TP Mazembe, a five-time African champion, completed the compact Stade TP Mazembe, which seats 18,500 fans, between 2011 and 2019.

According to sources, the Zimbabwean delegation was eager to learn from TP Mazembe’s stadium-building process, with an interest in replicating such a venue in Zimbabwe.

The delegation also toured TP Mazembe’s training facility, located on a farm, to explore potential ideas that could be implemented back home.
