Temba Mliswa’s Daughter Arrested for Drug Possession
Former Norton MP, Temba Mliswa’s daughter was arrested for drug possession last week.
Mliswa took to X platform, formerly known as Twitter, to share that one of his daughters, who resides with her mother, had been arrested.
“One of my daughters, the 3rd born who stays with her mother, was arrested over a drug charge. I have made the tough decision to lay it out here for posterity, clarity and factuality to prevail before the issue is bastardized in the social fora,” he posted.

M’Diwa Mliswa Chanetsa (20) was apprehended for unlawfully possessing dangerous drugs as defined in section 157(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
According to an official statement, on February 22, 2024, around 12:00 PM, detectives from CID Drugs Harare received intelligence indicating that individuals were in possession of illicit substances at 35 Colchester, Avonlea Harare.
Following this tip-off, a search was conducted at the premises, leading to the discovery of one sachet of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (commonly known as MDMA) in the dining room, concealed under the sofa. Consequently, the accused individuals were apprehended.
“On 22 February 2024 at around 1200 hours, detectives from CID Drugs Harare received information that accused persons were in possession of drugs at number 35 Colchester, Avonlea Harare. Searches were conducted in the house and seizedwas one satchet of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine in the dining room ubder the sofa. The accused persons were subsequently arrested. ”
According to a report, the Methylenedioxymethamphetamine weighs approximately 1.30 grams and holds a street value of ZWL$195,000.
In his statement, Mliswa highlighted that his daughter is a bright individual who has excelled academically.
However, he acknowledged her past reluctance to adhere to the guidelines he sets for his other children. Mliswa stated that when his daughter turned 18, he attempted to discuss her future plans with her, but she declined his guidance and even chose not to reside with him.
He emphasized that the purpose of revealing her arrest is not to attribute blame to her mother, but rather to shed light on her behavior as a child.
“She is a brilliant kid who has done well at school but in the past has refused to abide by the roadmap I apply to my other kids. At 18 I sat her down on her future plans but she refused it, even to stay with me. This isn’t to blame her mother but reveal how she is as a child.”
