Position Overview
We are seeking a Finance and Administration Assistant to support our financial management and administrative functions. This role will provide essential financial advice and help manage the organization’s day-to-day operations, ensuring they align with our strategic initiatives and budgetary allocations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Establish and oversee effective accounting and bookkeeping systems.
- Implement internal controls and administrative procedures for operational efficiency.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for funding partners.
- Monitor cash flow and manage funder remittances.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and yearly budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage bank accounts while tracking signing authorities.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of financial reports to funders.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure appropriate use of program funds.
Human Resources and Administration:
- Maintain personnel files and a register of organizational assets.
- Manage the organization’s assets, ensuring they are insured.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
- Supervise general staff to maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a degree in accounting or a related field, with proficiency in Pastel. A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role is required.
