The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced updated fuel prices, effective from 4 April to 4 May 2025, with both diesel and petrol prices seeing slight reductions
In the new pricing structure, diesel prices have decreased by 3 cents, while petrol prices are down by 2 cents. These adjustments follow the M-1 pricing system, which is used for monthly fuel price reviews.
ZERA confirmed that the new fuel prices will remain in effect until 4 May 2025, based on the M-1 pricing formula.
Updated Fuel Prices for April 2025
The new prices are as follows:
Diesel 50 (ZWL/litre): 40.65
Blend – E5 (ZWL/litre): 40.92
Diesel 50 (USD/litre): 1.52
Blend – E5 (USD/litre): 1.53
ZERA also reminded fuel retailers that while they may sell fuel at prices lower than the set maximum, they must clearly display the prices in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Blending Ratio Maintained at E5
ZERA confirmed that the ethanol blending ratio for petrol remains at E5, meaning 5% of the fuel is ethanol. This ratio is vital for maintaining fuel quality and aligning with pricing standards.
“The blending ratio for petrol is at E5. Fuel retailers may sell below the prescribed prices depending on their trading conditions but must ensure that the prices are clearly displayed in line with the fuel pricing regulations,” said ZERA.
ZERA advised the public and fuel retailers to stay informed about any future price changes by visiting its official website or checking updates on its social media platforms.
“Official price releases by ZERA can be verified on our website, Facebook, or Twitter,” ZERA added.
