The opportunity to buy prepaid power tokens will be temporarily unavailable while ZESA Holdings performs planned maintenance on its vending system, Zimbabwe’s electricity users have been informed.

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a division of ZESA, said in a statement earlier this week that the prepaid power vending system will be undergoing maintenance Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

Customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens during this 13-hour maintenance window. ZETDC advised all customers to prepare ahead of time and make sure they have enough tokens to cover their electricity expenses during the maintenance window.

ZETDC would like to advise its valued customers nationwide on the unavailability of the prepaid electricity token purchase system from Tuesday 31 December 2024 at 1700 hours to Wednesday 1 January 2025 at 0600 hours. This is to allow for the annual system maintenance on the prepaid vending system.

Customers are therefore advised to purchase sufficient electricity tokens to sustain them during the service disruption period.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
