Despite initial concerns about clashing with the SADC Industrialisation Week, Alick Macheso’s highly-anticipated album launch has been cleared by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). The event, scheduled for Friday at the Alexander Sports Club in Harare, will see the Orchestra Mberikwazvo frontman unveil his latest album, “Kupa Kuturika”.
Macheso’s manager, Tich Makahamadze, allayed fears of a postponement, confirming that the launch will proceed as planned. “We are thrilled to announce that the ZRP has given us the green light, and we’re ready to give fans an unforgettable experience,” Makahamadze said.
The album launch, set to take place at the iconic Alexander Sports Club, promises to be a highlight of Zimbabwe’s music scene. Macheso’s fans are eagerly awaiting the release of “Kupa Kuturika”, which marks a new chapter in the musician’s illustrious career.
The event’s approval comes as a relief to fans and organizers, who had expressed concerns about the government’s ban on public events ahead of the SADC summit in August.
Other programs have been postponed to later dates due to the 44th SADC Summit, which Harare is hosting.

This development is due to a government directive to postpone all shows and public gatherings penciled for August due to the SADC summit being held in Harare.
“Please note that all tickets purchased remain valid and will be used for the same show at a date to be announced at the at the end of the week,” said Fiesta.
