The King of Sungura, Alick Macheso, celebrated his Africa Day at 007 Club in Glendale, where he packed the venue to capacity.
As usual, his staunch fan Sekuru Nyangatayani, a prominent traditional healer in Glendale, was there clad in a gown with the national flag colours and the Joy Master “Varidzi vemafaro” written on it, and with Macheso’s popular saying, Ayaaaaaayah.
Sekuru Nyangatayani did not disappoint as usual as he dished money to Macheso and his band members.
Orchestra Mberikwazvo chanter Jonas Kasamba and Barnabas Mandipota spiced up the show as they made sure fans were on their toes throughout the show.

Somandla Ndebele warmed up the stage with bass guitarist Spenser Kumbulani, aka Baba Ashie, proving to be one of the greatest guitarists in the country.
Fans around Mashonaland Central and Harare province supported the show, which was an all-night gig.
Unlike previous shows, yesterday’s show was very peaceful, with Macheso encouraging his fans to shun violence all the time.
