The Tobacco Industry Marketing Board (TIMB) is seeking applications for a Field Officer to join our team in Manicaland Province (Rusape and Mutare). The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting sustainability projects and programs within the tobacco industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Report to the Sustainability Officer/Technical Officer
Organize and conduct Sustainability Field Days
Execute and manage approved TIMB sustainability initiatives
Oversee the implementation, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of ALP (Agricultural Labour Practices) for the industry
Assist in combating corruption by monitoring and training stakeholders
Act as a regional point of contact for sustainability-related complaints
Conduct geo-referencing and field mapping using KOBO Collect
Assist in the classification process at sales floors, under supervision
Provide support to farmers by sharing agronomic and sustainable practices for better tobacco production
Collaborate with the Forestry Commission on afforestation initiatives
Participate in data collection for farm surveys and ensure accurate reporting
Contribute to crop estimates and assessments
Assist in STP (Sustainable Tobacco Production) and ALP audits at the regional level
Organize and provide farmer training on sustainable tobacco production
Promote effective communication and raise awareness about sustainability issues like child labor and afforestation
Ensure that all processes and tools are consistently applied
Organize and participate in regional agricultural events, ensuring that sustainability information is accessible to stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Science, or related field
A valid Class 3 Driver’s license
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an added advantage

Emotional intelligence and the ability to work with diverse groups
