Legal practitioner Joshua Chirambwe has rejected s3xual harassment claims made against him by fellow lawyer Fadzayi Mahere, asserting that he is happily married and has no interest in pursuing any form of companionship with the former legislator.
Mahere recently lodged a complaint with the Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ), citing inappropriate messages Chirambwe allegedly posted in a WhatsApp group named Zim Advocates. The messages, which Mahere deemed “lustful,” appeared to express admiration for an unnamed woman in the group.
One of the messages read:
“You see, there is this woman I adore beyond words—let’s say I am rather fond of Fadzi.”
Another stated:
“There is another lady in this group, whose elegance could give royalty a run for their money. Her character? Sweet enough to make sugar but how can I approach them?”
Mahere sought Chirambwe’s response to these remarks, but in a strongly worded four-page reply, Chirambwe dismissed the allegations as absurd and unfounded, questioning why Mahere had not addressed the issue with him directly.
He emphasized that, given their shared work environment, including the same building, parking lot, and elevator, Mahere could have confronted him personally instead of taking the matter to the LSZ.
“I am blissfully united in matrimony with my dearest Mukudzei, a woman of remarkable accomplishments and grace. She is a dedicated legal practitioner and a nurturing mother to our two cherished children, Beyonce and Chloe,” Chirambwe stated in his response.

“In light of my union, I perceive no cause to seek companionship elsewhere.”
Citing Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Chirambwe declared his unwavering commitment to his wife, insisting that he had never made any reference to Mahere in any WhatsApp conversation.
“Before one responds to a ghost story, they must verify if the ghost even exists. I cannot be expected to explain a dream I never had,” he added.
Chirambwe further argued that even if he had expressed admiration, it would not constitute sexual harassment, as Mahere had the right to either accept or decline any romantic interest.
Mahere, a prominent lawyer and former legislator, previously served as spokesperson for the now-fragmented Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) and has spoken on international platforms about Zimbabwe’s political situation.
She resigned from her Mt. Pleasant parliamentary seat following the capture of CCC by self-proclaimed Secretary-General Sengezo Tshabangu.
Chirambwe, who refers to himself as the “Prophet Advocate,” concluded his response by emphasizing his confidence and fearlessness, stating that had he been interested in Mahere, he would have approached her directly.
