Embattled Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu, has pledged to expose and confront what he believes to be external interference fueling divisions within the party.
According to Bulawayo24, Tshabangu recently appeared before a disciplinary hearing led by a three-member panel consisting of Senator Sesel Zvidzai, Hon. Concilia Chinanzvavana, and Gilbert Kagodora. The proceedings were overseen by Arbiter General Fungayi Jessie Majome, while Tshabangu was represented by Kucaca Phulu, who was instructed by Mabikwa Attorneys.
Concerns Over Fairness of the Hearing
During the hearing, Tshabangu raised objections about procedural irregularities, arguing that he had not been furnished with a charge sheet outlining the accusations against him. He also claimed he was not informed of the specific clauses within the party’s constitution under which he was being charged.
Through a statement issued by his spokesperson, Nqobizitha Mlilo, Tshabangu alleged that an external force was influencing the disciplinary panel’s decisions.
“At critical moments in the proceedings, panel members made phone calls to an unknown individual, seemingly receiving instructions on how to rule on key issues,” he claimed.
As a result, Tshabangu has instructed his legal team to subpoena the phone records of the disciplinary panel members to determine the identity of the person allegedly issuing directives behind the scenes.

Breakdown of Internal Communication and Party Stability
Tshabangu lamented the breakdown of communication within the party, stating that the chances of resolving internal disputes amicably had been completely eroded.
He also announced plans to restore order within CCC’s parliamentary and local government structures.
“In the coming days, decisive action will be taken to bring stability and unity to the party, particularly within the Parliamentary and Local Government Caucuses,” he stated.

He emphasized that the party’s parliamentary agenda requires strong cohesion and discipline, warning that there would be no room for distractions or internal disputes.
“The 10th Parliament has a historic role to play in advancing national interests. To fulfill this duty, the remaining legally recognized party structures must operate efficiently and effectively. Discipline will be enforced at all levels,” he added.
Tshabangu reassured CCC members that stability would soon be restored, and the ongoing internal turmoil would be decisively addressed.
