Floyd Mayweather Jr Zimbabwe Tour

Floyd Mayweather Jr., the former five-weight world boxing champion, arrived in Zimbabwe early on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in his private plane with a small entourage that did not include security detail for his “Motherland Tour”.

He was received by prominent gold dealer and politician Scott Sakupwanya, who escorted him to meet a large audience in Mabvuku, a tiny urban township in Harare where Scott is running for a parliamentary seat.

Speaking to the press and the spectators, Mayweather told them that he and Scott were looking into constructing hospitals and schools. His declaration was met with a thunderous round of cheers. Additionally, he exhorted the populace to support Emmerson Mnangagwa for president in the upcoming election.

He watched exhibition matches by local male and female boxers before his exercise drill exhibition, a few picture sessions, and autograph signing.
