Warriors Captain Nakamba Applauds Scott Sakupwanya for Transforming Zimbabwean Football

Nakamba Sakupwanya

Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba has praised Scottland FC owner Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya for his efforts in transforming the lives of footballers in Zimbabwe.

The Luton Town midfielder, who is set to join the national team on Monday, also believes Zimbabwe has a strong chance of qualifying for the 2025 African Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.

Through his business, BetterBrands Petroleum, Sakupwanya sponsors the Warriors’ kit.

Zimbabwe needs at least a point in their Group J qualifier against Kenya, scheduled for November 15 in Polokwane, to secure their sixth appearance at the AFCON finals.

Sakupwanya’s club, Scottland FC, also requires a win against Black Mambas at Rufaro on Friday to claim the Northern Region Soccer League championship and earn promotion to the Premier Soccer League.

“I would like to send my best wishes to Scottland FC ahead of their final game on Friday.

“To the owner, Scott Sakupwanya, thank you for uplifting, supporting, and changing the lives of players, and for the support you give to the national team,” Nakamba wrote on his X account Wednesday evening.

Sakupwanya has made headlines by offering substantial incentives to his players.

In addition to each receiving a Toyota Aqua for defeating Herentals U20 last Friday, Scottland FC players are set to receive US$10,000 each if they secure promotion to the PSL.
