Today, Harare Municipal Police apprehended Bornwell Dirwai, a vendor operating at the intersection of Rezende Street and Robert Mugabe Road, on allegations of selling counterfeit and expired groceries.
The arrest comes as part of the city’s efforts to crack down on illegal activities and protect public health.
According to the City of Harare, Bornwell Dirwai was found selling repackaged and expired food items to unsuspecting customers. Among the seized products were milk falsely packaged in containers branded as South African, margarine repackaged in Buttercup margarine containers, and oil products disguised in Zimgold-branded packages.
