Joe Biden is believed to have contracted COVID-19 and was compelled to cancel a speech as the pressure to withdraw from the presidential contest intensified.

The president has returned to his Delaware home to take care of himself after exhibiting moderate symptoms, including general malaise from the virus, according to reports from the White House.

Even though he is concerned that his advanced age may cause him to lose to Donald Trump in November, Joe Biden has stated that he is not withdrawing from the presidential contest.

However, prominent Democrats still voice concerns, as seen by private conversations between House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer with the president.

The most well-known House Democrat to urge Joe Biden to withdraw his reelection campaign is California Congressman Adam Schiff, a close ally of outgoing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Schiff stated on Wednesday that, although Mr. Biden must make the final decision, he thinks it is time to pass the torch.

Democrats are aware that they are running out of time to quell party division following the president’s appalling debate performance last month, even though the fallout from the assassination attempt on Mr. Trump and the excitement surrounding the Republican National Convention have diverted some attention from Mr. Biden’s predicament.

When Biden stepped onto Air Force One at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport, he was not wearing a mask.

When the media asked the 81-year-old how he was feeling, he said, “Good, I’m feeling well.”.

Then he ascended the stairs to the plane with caution.

According to an official, Mr. Biden had upper respiratory symptoms, such as a cough and runny nose.

They also said that the president had received booster shots. Additionally, he received his first dosage of Paxlovid, an antiviral medication that prevents the COVID-19 virus from proliferating and expanding within the body.
