Tafadzwa Chidawa’s Matrix Discipline Camp exposes a drug addict’s surprising confession—how smoking mbanje helped him cope with stress and prevent snake bites, shedding light on the deeper struggles of addiction.
The startling revelation has led to a mixed response from Zimbabweans, with many expressing concern and confusion over the connection between drug use and snakes.
The person with an addiction shared that his reasons for smoking mbanje were linked to the stresses caused by a garden boy who was allegedly causing trouble with his pregnant partner.
According to the individual, the garden boy’s actions, such as prematurely harvesting green maize, put immense pressure on him.
“I smoke mbanje because I want to overcome stress from the garden boy harvesting green maize before it’s ripe,” he confessed. “Also, when I smoke mbanje, snakes do not come near our house.”
This unusual claim has sparked debates online, with Zimbabweans reacting in various ways.
Tsitsi Success took to social media, commenting on the matter with a humorous yet thoughtful perspective:
“Inoda kubatwa masides ehe iyi Mkoma Tafadzwa Chidawa hongu mkomana arikutira zvinodhaka asi mkomana wo webasa kuda anenge achitoparadzawo zvishandwa zvaMai vake, zvopa kuti varwisane neMkomana. Kungoti pamunozotora vana venyu ava munenge mutori nenyaya izere, coz ndatadza kubata musoro wenyaya 😂 yemkomana.”
This translates to a mix of disbelief and amusement, suggesting that the community should take the situation seriously, as it might lead to further complications.
First Steps ECD and Primary School shared their thoughts, stressing the importance of balancing children and financial priorities.
“Kusiya mwana muchindotsvaga mari zvakanaka chaizvo asi you lose your son and remain with money. Vabereki vazhinji varasikirwa nevana wosara nemari. LOVE BOTH CHILDREN AND MONEY.”
Mama Tyrrell Ropa also commented with a sympathetic tone,
“Zvanenge munhu atokura weduwe mwana wamama vane plot uyu apo unenge uchiti une mwana akutarisa pamba usipo wanike mashura but uchaita bho hako mwanakomana you’re in good hands.”
This bizarre connection between drug use, stress, and snakes has left many questioning the true reasons behind the addict’s behaviour.
While it may seem absurd, his story reflects the deeper issues that many face in dealing with mental health challenges and the impact of external stressors.
It serves as a reminder of the importance of providing support and understanding to those who are struggling with addiction and the underlying causes behind their actions.
