ALICK “Extrabasso” Macheso is again set to serenade festival-goers at the Polokwane Phalaphala Festival to be held early next month in South Africa.

Macheso will headline the festival hosted by SABC, where he is going to share the stage with South Africa’s finest artists, among them Casper Nyovest and Lira. The event that is for the 9th of September will give Macheso extra exposure. Being his second appearance at the same event proves that the sungura maestro is one of the best musicians in the region apart from being a musical icon in Zimbabwe.

Speaking through his publicist Tich Makahamadze, the sungura king said that they feel honoured to be invited for the second time to such a big event, which will see more than twenty artists performing.

“We feel humbled as Orchestra Mberikwazvo representing Zimbabwe at a South African event. We performed there last year and I believe what we did last time has given us another chance to be part and parcel of the edition this year as well.

As you all know, good works always yield good results, they say,” Said Makahamadze.
