President Mnangagwa Emphasizes Importance of Peaceful Solutions

President Mnangagwa

President Mnangagwa emphasized the need for global unity to build a fair, sustainable world focused on peace and mutual respect during his address at the United Nations General Assembly. He called for urgent action to address issues like poverty and inequality, which are root causes of conflict.

He highlighted that achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 requires immediate strategies and support, especially for vulnerable populations. Zimbabwe is committed to these goals as part of its Vision 2030, which aims for an upper-middle-income economy.

The President also urged the removal of sanctions that hinder Zimbabwe’s progress and expressed solidarity with countries facing blockades, such as Cuba, and called for support for Palestine and Western Sahara.
