Zimbabwean Afro-fusion artist Queen Mashie is set to make a highly anticipated homecoming with the launch of her latest album Rejuvenation at Londoners Public House on May 1, 2026.
Widely regarded as a dynamic cultural bridge between Zimbabwe and Europe, Queen Mashie born into a celebrated musical family as the younger sister of the late music icon Andy Brown has carved out her own identity on the international stage. While her brother was known for shaping Zimbabwe’s urban grooves movement, she has taken a different path, blending traditional Shona sounds with contemporary global influences.
Now based in France, Queen Mashie has spent recent years performing across European stages, introducing audiences to what she calls the “Zim-Spirit.” Her music fuses mbira-inspired melodies and rich Zimbabwean polyrhythms with Afro-pop, soul, and elements of French chanson, creating a distinctive Afro-fusion sound.
Over the years, she has collaborated with a range of musicians both in Zimbabwe and abroad, working alongside live bands and producers in Paris and Harare to refine her sound. These collaborations have helped shape her into a versatile artist whose music resonates across cultures and languages.
Beyond performance, Queen Mashie has emerged as a cultural ambassador, using her music to tell stories of identity, love, and resilience. Singing in a blend of Shona, English, and occasional French, she connects with diverse audiences while staying rooted in her heritage.
Her new album, Rejuvenation, recorded between Paris and Harare, is described as her most personal project yet. It reflects her journey as a Zimbabwean woman navigating life in the diaspora while maintaining a strong connection to home.
The album launch, scheduled for 8 PM at Londoner’s Public House, is expected to draw music lovers and industry figures alike. Supporting acts include Diana “Mangwenya” Samkange and Pauline & Nicolar and The Band.
With limited tickets priced at US$15 and VIP access at US$20, the event will also feature an exclusive album sale and autograph session.
The launch marks not only a major milestone in Queen Mashie’s career but also a celebration of her evolution into a global artist while remaining deeply connected to Zimbabwean roots.
