A family in Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park area was robbed of nearly US$26,000 by three armed assailants on Friday.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the incident, stating that the robbers, armed with a pistol and another unidentified firearm, attacked a couple and other family members before fleeing with the money, five mobile phones, and a wristwatch.
The police released a statement saying:
“Investigations are underway regarding a robbery that took place at a residence in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo on 22 November 2024. Three armed suspects attacked a couple and other family members, stealing USD 25,918, five cellphones, and a wristwatch.”

In a separate armed robbery incident, four suspects armed with an unidentified pistol also targeted a couple in Kambuzuma, Harare, on Saturday, stealing US$4,870 and two mobile phones.
The ZRP is calling on the public to assist in solving these crimes by reporting any information to the nearest police station.
